Evidence of attendance

In order to evidence your attendance you will be issued with a .pdf certificate.

Upload your certificate to your portfolio and place it in the block below.

As an example i have uploaded the document "Continuing professional development registration standard" that outlines the Nursing and Midwifery board's requirements for CPD.

Please write a very short statement here relating to the context of your professional development

Objective

As part of your CPD you will have developed a personal learning plan / action plan that identifies your strengths and areas for development.

Part of the skill in developing a good action plan is CPD that allows you to continue to develop your strengths while addressing in a strategic manner your identified area for development. A plan that is too focussed on areas for development may not allow you to continue and improve your strengths.

This is the box where you identify the area for development / strength and a short explanation of why.

Contacts

One of the most useful aspects of working collaboratively is the networking that can result.

This text box is a place where you can record the names and contact details of anyone you met so that you can reconnect later.

Mandatory skill aquisition

CPD can also be used to participate in activities that develop mandatory skills.

This is a place where you can identify and evidence the attainment of these skills.

Reflections of learning

This is where you write your reflections about your CPD session.

These neeed to be related to your identified objectives in the first instance but also how it connects hoistically to your professional development.

Other considerations you might reflect on are:

  • How does the topic of this workshop relate to your scope of practice?
  • How does the topic of this workshop relate to your annual performance and continuing professional development plan?
  • What were your (personal) learning objectives for the workshop?
  • How did the workshop allow you to achieve the learning objectives  (ie summarise key outcomes)?
  • If your learning objectives were not met, why - and what will you need to now action/undertake to  achieve them?
  • Has the session highlighted areas not considered before that need addressing?
  • Were there unanticipated outcomes that need to be identifed?
  • What are the implications for nursing / midwifery as well as your teaching and research?
  • What evidence can you provide to support claims of objectives met?
