  • Recipient of a 2017 Australian Awards for University Teaching (AAUT) Citation for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning. Citation: for transforming field-based teaching of Environmental and Geospatial Science and the attainment of critical field skills through immersive digital visualisations
  • Recipient of a 2016 Young Tall Poppy Science Award from the Australian Institute of Policy and Science. The award recognises outstanding research performance and excellence in communication and community engagement activities to promote an understanding of science
  • Awarded the 2016 Walter Howchin Medal by the Geological Society of Australia (SA Division). The medal is awarded to a researcher in the early stage of their career (viz. under 35 years), who is distinguished by their significant published research work within the Earth Sciences in South Australia, or from a South Australian base
  • Recipient of a 2016 UniSA Citation for Outstanding Contributions to Digital Learning. Citation: For transforming field-based teaching of Environmental and Geospatial Science and the attainment of critical field skills through immersive digital visualisations
  • Awarded the D.I. Groves Medal for best paper in the 2015 volume of the Australian Journal of Earth Sciences
  • Recipient of the 2014 UniSA ITEE Early Career Researcher of the Year Award
  • Finalist in the 2014 South Australian Science Excellence Awards in the category of Early Career STEM Educator of the Year – Tertiary Teaching
  • Finalist in the 2012 South Australian Science Excellence Awards in the category of PhD Research Excellence – Life and Environmental Sciences
  • Recipient of a University Doctoral Research Medal and a Special Commendation from the Dean of Graduate Studies at the University of Adelaide for outstanding PhD research
